Cllr Eames elected as new Mayor 21/22

Northallerton Town Council are pleased to announce newly elected Mayor 21/22, Cllr Phil Eames. Congratulations Cllr Eames, we look forward to working with you in the year ahead. In his Mayors Statement Cllr Eames stated:

‘In the year ahead I would like to see us work together to continue to implement the Council’s Strategic Plan, on particular making visible improvements to our amenities, including returning the Town Hall basement to public use, working towards providing new public toilets, improving playground facilities, providing more allotments and continuing to make the Town more attractive for residents and visitors alike’.

Congratulations also goes to Cllr Paul Cornfoot on his position as Deputy Mayor for Northallerton Town Council!

On Monday 17th May, as his last duty as Mayor of Northallerton 20/21, Cllr Richardson alongside Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Peter Wright from the Yorkshire Vet opened the brand-new Buck Inn Wetherspoons pub following a highly anticipated and long-awaited placement of the chain at the North end of the High Street. The pub looks fantastic and is such a great asset to the town, joining other independent businesses contributing to the development of our county market town. Northallerton Town Council thanks Cllr Richardson for this commitment to the role of Mayor during the challenges we faced during 2020/2021.
