Celebrating retirement with an Oak Tree for the Applegarth

Mr Les Oakley, who has recently retired from Northallerton Town Council, planted an oak tree in the Applegarth surrounded by his family, workmates and councillors as a celebration of his time working here.

Mr Oakley has been a valued employee for more than 20 years, heading up the Amenities team which look after the Town Councils outdoor areas.

Mayor, Cllr Phil Eames, said “This is a very fitting commemoration of the time Les has spent working for Northallerton Town Council. He will be very much missed and all staff and councillors wish him a long and happy retirement! “
