The Town Council hosts a number of annual events for the community. As a town council we work with local artists, organisations, businesses and charities to bring fun, free and exciting events for our community. We also organise memorial events to commemorate integral dates that have made our history.

Northallerton Town Council was privileged to be involved in the UCI World Championships 2019, Northallerton Welcomes the world. Please check out our video to see the county town of North Yorkshire host this worldwide event and what we got up to.

The main three events NTC organise each year are:

Annual Bonfire and Firework Event

NTC have hosted this staple event for over 50 years. Held at the Applegarth car park site with the assistance of the Crow family and Hambleton District Council, this local event sees over 8,000 residents and visitors each year.

Remembrance Sunday

A church service followed by laying of wreaths and a parade.

Location: All Saints Church/High Street, Northallerton in partnership with the RAF and Royal British Legion

Santa Sunday 2021

Another staple event hosted by the Town Council. The celebrations usually take place the first Sunday of December. This consists of a grand entrance from the big man himself, Father Christmas and a visit to his grotto where a special present is on offer for all children of Northallerton. Local entertainment and attractions help fill the High Street with Christmas festivities alongside local yummy delights to fill your belly in our ‘street food’ market.
