An Annual Town Meeting was held at the Town Hall on 12th May where community groups, residents and councillors discussed matters of interest to the Town.
Since the last Annual Meeting, a commitment has been made to establish a new venue for local artists and musicians, which is an exciting development.
In order to further formalise the relationship between the Town Council and the Air Cadets, a Mayor’s Cadet will be chosen annually to work as an ambassador alongside the Mayor, attending events and forming closer links between the young people and the Council.
Attendees were thrilled to hear of Rihanna Holdens considerable success in boxing recently, including 4 national championships at her weight and is looking forward to her competing in the Olympics in 2028.
The Mayor of York & North Yorkshire urban area investment plans were discussed and stakeholders hope to see some of this funding directed to appropriate projects in Northallerton.
A Northallerton School & Sixth Form College Community Action Day will take place on 12th July and all are encouraged to attend to support the school and its young people.
Developing the next Town Council Strategic Plan is a priority for NTC in the coming year there will be opportunities for residents and community groups to input into the development of the 2027 – 2032 plan.
