Allotment plots fully allocated at North Northallerton site

High demand reflects popularity of allotment gardening; Bankhead Park development continues in line with Council’s 2022–2027 strategic plan.

All plots at the North Northallerton allotment site near the Leisure Centre have now been fully allocated, reflecting strong interest from local residents in growing their own produce and participating in a thriving community space.

This site has proven extremely popular and a waiting list has already been established. Residents who would like to be added to this list are invited to contact the Town Council at

Northallerton Town Council confirms that the development of a smaller allotment site at Bankhead Park, which forms part of its five-year strategic plan, is underway. This project will support the Council’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing existing play equipment and green space for community use plus meet ongoing demand for allotments in the area.

The Mayor of Northallerton, Cllr Andrew Hugill, said: “We are delighted that the North Northallerton allotments have been so well received.

The strong interest and waiting list show how much residents value these community growing spaces. As part of our strategic plan, the Bankhead Park enhancement will provide further opportunities for residents while ensuring the park continues to be a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.”
